Beauty Formulation was founded by Dr Leanne King, a chemist and cosmetic scientist with over 15 years of experience in skincare innovation and product development.
Our Story
After completing her PhD in Chemistry developing biomimetic antioxidants at Loughborough University in 2010, Leanne built her career formulating for some of the UK's most recognised brands. As Innovation Skincare Technologist at Boots, she developed products for the No7 range, combining cutting edge research with commercial viability. She went on to lead formulation and product development roles for major high street retailers before founding Beauty Formulation.
Leanne has also built and launched her own award winning skincare brand, recognised nationally including Brand of the Year UK at the Corporate LiveWire Global Awards 2025. This hands on experience of taking products from lab to market shapes how we work with our clients, we understand both the science and the commercial realities.
We work with brands at every stage, from first time founders to established companies expanding their ranges. Our approach combines rigorous formulation science with practical guidance on compliance, testing, and getting to market.
We're based in the Midlands and work with clients across the UK and internationally.
